Just because your playing days may end after high school or college doesn’t mean you can’t make a significant impact in sport.
In the Mount’s sport management program, you’ll learn about organizational structures in sports, the economic impact of professional and intercollegiate sports in the U.S., and the diverse and expanding field of recreational sports. Major courses will also cover promotions, market research, sponsorship and fundraising in the industry. You’ll study sport marketing and communications, sport law and ethics in sport management, along with fundamental courses in management, finance, accounting and operations.
The sport management program provides internship and experiential learning opportunities – in fact, 100 percent of students participate in internships and have direct interaction with sports industry professionals both in and out of the classroom. The Mount’s location in the mid-Atlantic also offers opportunities for careers with professional, collegiate and other sport franchises after graduation.
You’ll also be able to develop relationships with our Division I athletics department, as well as the Mount’s Sport Management Advisory Board, consisting of sport professionals from around the region.
This experience can help you pursue a career as a sports agent, athletic director or game day operations manager, or work in sports media, sales or event promotion.
