The Sport Administration/Management programs at IUP prepare students to use a variety of skills to function in a management capacity within the sport industry. Graduates of these programs can seek employment in such areas as high school and college athletic departments, coaching, community recreation organizations, minor and major league sports franchises, commercial sport facilities, and golf courses, as well as other athletic and sports-related industries.

Each spring the program hosts The Pennsylvania Sport Business Conference which is designed to provide students an opportunity to network with professionals from the sporting industry, which helps them acquire jobs and internships.  Additionally, students are exposed to various presentations regarding current trends within the sporting industry from active professionals.  Students and fellow academics also have a chance to showcase research.

Founded in 1875, Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) is a vibrant, comprehensive, research-based, teaching-focused, student-centered learning community.

IUP combines the academic opportunities of a large university with the highly personalized and intimate learning-centered environment of a small college.

Nearly 12,000 undergraduate and graduate students are enrolled in our accredited and nationally recognized programs, enjoying traditional and nontraditional classroom experiences, engaging in research and service activities with their faculty mentors, becoming lifelong learners, preparing for rewarding careers and productive lives, and developing leadership skills for effective citizenship.

Located in the heart of Indiana, Pennsylvania, an hour east of Pittsburgh, IUPís main campus has grown from 12 acres and one building in 1875, to 354 acres and 65 major buildings. The IUP Student Cooperative Association not only owns and operates the Hadley Union Building adjacent to the main campus but also owns and maintains a 280-acre outdoor recreational park a short distance away.

IUP varsity athletics compete in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference and is an NCAA Division II member.
